Daily Services

 

  • Take water samples, test chlorine residual, PH, and turbidity. 

  • Manage the SCADA system, review log files of system performance.

  • Analyze data for trends, tune setpoints for optimal performance. 

  • Monitor the general condition of the plant inside and out.

  • Inspect tank levels and correct as needed.

  • Monitor chemical levels and adjust as required to maintain target levels.

  • Clean and maintain pumping station equipment.

  • Utilize proper safety precautions for all work performed.

  • Provide accurate information/updates to the ORC.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

  • Anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents.

 

Monthly & Annual Duties 

 

  • Coordinate Safe Drinking Water Act compliance (CDPHE). 

    • Oversee testing, including Total Coliform & LCR, confirm results are submitted correctly, accurately, and on-time. 

    • Update Monitoring Plan and coordinate ongoing requests or issues with WQCD. 

    • Submit Enforcement Order Quarterly Progress Reports to the WQCD. 

    • Update Lead & Copper Materials Evaluation. 

    • Update Backflow Prevention Cross-connection Control Program. 

    • BPCCC Annual Report, including overseeing device testing.

    • Manage water plant maintenance as stated in the Sanitary Survey. 

  • Consumer Confidence Reporting. 

    • Review all potential sources of contamination in the draft state report.

    • Publish annual water quality reports to customers.

 

As Needed

 

  • Coordinate District capital projects: 

    • Design and installation of new equipment

    • Contract coordination with attorney, if necessary.

    • Coordinate request for proposals and selection of contractors.

    • Manage projects, oversee quality of work, approve invoices from contractors.

  • Create EPA emergency response plans and risk assessments.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work, including a variety of general clean-up work. 

  • Install and repair water distribution lines, water valves, fire hydrant meters and services.

  • Operate and maintain pumps, hoses, air compressors, pipelines, etc.

  • Operate, test, and modify SCADA systems as needed. 

  • Locate buried pipes.

  • Provide general customer service. 

  • Respond to on-site requests and inquiries from the public. 

  • Post general notices and non-payment notices on properties within the District; turn water services off and on.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public.

  • Install, operate, and maintain insulation and winterization.

  • Install and maintain future water treatment infrastructure.

  • Inspect equipment and water treatment systems to monitor proper performance of operations.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to operations to ensure assigned functions are efficient and cost effective.

  • Remove snow as required to maintain proper operations of the plant.
